T.O.P. Chefs Compete During National Salvation Army Week
In celebration of National Salvation Army Week, TSA of Alameda County and TSA of San Francisco joined forces with SFFD, SFPD & the Oakland FD for the inaugural “T.O.P. Chefs” Competition (T.O.P. = Taste of Preparedness). This Iron Chef-like cook-off took a mere culinary battle to the next level.
Teams of first responders were challenged with designing main and side dishes within 30 minutes using only items found in an at-home disaster kit: non-perishable foods, bottled water, freeze dried items, etc. The final creations were evaluated by a team of judges for taste, presentation, quality of meal, and —of course— creativity.
The winner of the first T.O.P. Chefs was ... the Oakland Fire Department!
Great job by all of the competitors involved. It was so much fun!
